Sade Adu to perform at Nigeria's Independence Day bash

ven if the list of celebrities expected to perform at Nigeria's Independence day celebrations slated for Saturday, October 5th, at the Hilton Hotel on Park lane, London has not grown geometrically, it seems to have increased arithmetically. The latest to be included in that honours list is the smooth operator, Nigerian born, US based soul singer, Sade Adu (OBE).

This was disclosed exclusively on Monday by the Chief Executive Officer of Winners World-wide Ltd, Ambassador John Fashanu. Delighted that things are going to plan and arrangements are still in place to make it a night to remember, Fashanu said, all is being put together to make it the most spectacular Nigerian event to be staged outside the country.

The Nigerian Ambassador of sports disclosed that: 'all we're doing is in the name of democracy and we're planning to make it the most spectacular and memorable show to be held outside the country." Others also billed for the occasion include President Olusegun Obasanjo's step - son, the inspirational Tunde Baiyewu among others.

The Independence day show will also feature a galaxy of stars, including the reigning International Boxing Organisation, IBO and World Boxing Council, WBC, World heavyweight boxing champion, Lennox Lewis, Super Eagles skipper and Bolton Wanderers', Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Arsenal's Nwankwo Kanu and pop star, P. Diddy(formerly Puff Daddy), among others,

The list of who is who for the night includes, the Nigerian High Commissioner in the U. K, Dr. Christopher Kolade, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Na'Abba, London based, business mogul, Terry Wayas and several state governors, to mention a few.

Besides being an Independence day bash, the show is also being held to raise money for the Kanu Heart Foundation, and Fashanu's charity. The trio of Fashanu, Okocha and Kanu, have already put $150,000 on the line from their personal pockets for the occasion. Although, this could not be confirmed, there is speculation that the South African cast of Umoja could also be making an appearance.
