AXI driver in Osogbo, who was ill-treated by his wife and his boss for returning N179,000 left in his cab by a commuter, is to be rewarded.The driver, Mr. Omodara Alabi, is to receive a new car from members of the Osun State House of Assembly before the end of the month.
The assemblymen and dedicated their sitting on Monday in honour of the driver.
Alabi found the money in his car last week and took it to the state broadcasting corporation, where announcements were made in respect of the loss.
The House also recommended that the driver be honoured by the state government for his honesty.
House Speaker Adejare Bello said honesty was the only virtue that could put the country back on the good track.
Some of the legislators observed that many honest Nigerians had been castigated and stigmatised, and called for a change of attitude.
All the 26 members of the House unanimously decided to contribute a specific amount before the end of the month to fund the driver's reward.
Both assemblymen, Niran Ibitoye and Taiwo Sumonu noted that many Nigerians were outwardly religious but not godly.
