Musa Mohammed, who in turn claimed he did not know the result, thereby extending Obasanjo's desire to know. But while, this situation continued, other Nigerians were in suspense about the result of the Games, with the Egyptians who were deluded into believing that they were leading going into wide celebrations. However, the moment of truth and information finally came when the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) finally announced the result, and it was the turn of Nigerians to go into wide jubilation. Before that the Organisers of the Games, who had failed to record the nine medals won by Nigeria in the Special Sports, now deemed it right to do so, with Nigeria jumping up to 85 gold, while Egypt followed with 81.
