Four St. Annes’ students raped in Ibadan

Wednesday, August 13, 2008 Four students of St. Annes Secondary School, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State, were on Tuesday, raped to a state of coma by unknown rapists.
The development, which threw the atmosphere of the school into confussion, made the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Bashiru Azeez, to deploy policemen to man the place.
The commissioner, while condemning the act, described it as inhuman, adding that effort would be made to arrest the perpetrators.
Speaking through the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bisi Okuwobi,the police boss ordered the divisional police officer in the area to fish out the rapists.
Nigerian Tribune investigations revealed that three of the raped students were in Senior Secondary School, while the fourth one was in Junior Secondary School class.
It was gathered that the incident happened around 2.45 a.m when the alleged rapists stormed the rooms of the students to perpetrate the act.
Sources in the school said “the rapists made their way to the through the back fence and armed themselves with weapons like cutlasses, irons and charms.
“On entering, they beat up the headteacher on duty, after which they entered the room where the girls were sleeping.”
