Globacom, foundation partner on heart diseases

TO bring succour to more Nigerians with heart diseases, a Global System of Mobile Communications company, GLOBACOM, has entered into a partnership with Kanu Heart Foundation to generate N300 million to treat over 1,000 heart patients currently on the foundation's waiting list.

Speaking at a media briefing by the two organisations, which was attended by the founder of the foundation and Super Eagles Star, Kanu Nwankwo, Chief Operating Officer, GLOBACOM, Mr. Mohammed Jameel, said: "The partnership is expected to generate N300 million through the deployment of SMS for the treatment of selected patients with heart challenges.

"We have developed a platform with all Globacom subscribers to send 800 SMS messages 'Thank you for supporting Kanu Nwankwo's Heart Foundation in its bid to save Nigerians from heart disease', per second to 33640."

According to him, subscribers would not only be supporting the life-saving foundation but also stand the chances of winning numerous prizes set aside for the project.
