Head of Brand and Business Development of Pecksgrey, Muyiwa Williams, told our correspondent on Wednesday in Lagos that the outfit had signed a contract with the agents of the Portuguese.

Williams also said that discussions were at an advanced state with prospective sponsors of the visit as telecommunication outfits and banks have shown an interest in the project.

Mourinho is billed to be part of a symposium tagged, “Developing the Potential of Football in Nigeria.”

He is expected to hold a football clinic for young school children while followers of the game will also take their turn to meet him at a special programme where he will sign autographs in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Mourinho is popular in the game and we want to use him to encourage our youths, coaches and other football stakeholders in Nigeria,” Williams noted.

The former Porto coach is expected to be in the country between May 27 and 29.

Principal consultant of Pecksgrey, Remi Olukoya, stressed that Nigerian coaches would benefit from the three-day visit of Mourinho.

He said, “The coaches and sports journalists will be part of the symposium but more importantly, the coaches will follow Mourinho to schools and watch how he takes the young lads.

“We are happy that he is not too busy for now and we also intend to bring in other coaches in the English Premier League because Nigerians follow it so much. Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger could be our next target.

“Mourinho achieved so much within his short stay in England and we want to celebrate him to boost the development of the game in the country because people look up to achievers in various fields.”

Mourinho won the Premier League title, the Carling Cup and the FA Cup for Chelsea during his three-year stay in England.
