Soyinka also called for the trial of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu on criminal charges for "betraying his oath of office" and "dereliction of duty."
He said his organisation, Citizens' Forum, would soon commence a mock trial of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as it happened during the regime of late General Sani Abacha.
He spoke in Lagos during the public presentation of a book, "Reign of Evil: A Selection of published analytical articles on the Olusegun Obasanjo tenure as 'civilian President' of Nigeria" written by a human rights advocate, Mr. Eze Eluchie.
Soyinka said, "If anything happens to Mrs. Adebayo, some people are going to be in serious trouble. We are going to make sure that wherever they go, anywhere in the world, they will be pursued the same way Al-Bashir (President of Sudan) is being pursued now, the same way other criminals against humanity are being pursued.
"Coming generations will not forgive and forget them, even if we have gone."
He described as shameful, Iwu's response to the issues he raised about the conduct of the 2007 elections, adding that he only decided to ignore him.
He expressed happiness that the INEC boss was corroborating everything he said about the execution of his mandate as head of the commission.
While agreeing with the description by a serving governor that "Iwu is a criminal," he called for his formal trial "for betraying his oath of office".
Soyika said, "He should be tried on criminal charges for betraying his oath of office. If he dared have the courage to say something was wrong, therefore, he was going to re-do it, anything that has to do with that is a dereliction of duty.
"This his choice to twist the mandate of the people of Ekiti State is so explosive that only a foolish, irresponsible and conscienceless person can allow it to happen. So, I am sounding it as a warning that he should be very very careful."
He also flayed government's declaration of Adebayo wanted saying Nigerians were solidly behind her, while it was the responsibility of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro, to give her security.
He disclosed that the Citizens' Forum would soon commence a mock trial of Obasanjo to determine his misdeeds for the eight years of his regime.
Soyinka added that a website would be opened for people to testify about their experiences and perception of the administration of Obasanjo, saying that people could still testify openly.
